Foreign Secretary Ms. Sewa Lamsal paid a courtesy call on H.E. Salim bin Mohammed bin Said Al Mahroqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Sultanate of Oman, today. Matters related to the mutual cooperation including MoU in the field of tourism, labour employment, culture, education, trade, investment, direct air connectivity among others were also discussed.
Foreign Secretary Ms. Sewa Lamsal thanked the Government of Oman for providing employment to more than 21,000 Nepalis and elaborated on the excellent bilateral relations between the two nations. She mentioned how the Government of Nepal is observing strategies and projects of His Majesty’s Oman Vision 2040. She further urged to seek the opportunities to invest in tourism, hydropower among others in Nepal. She also requested to establish Embassy of Oman in Kathmandu.
H.E. Salim bin Mohammed bin Said Al Mahroqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism welcomed the Nepali delegation to Oman and assured of wide cooperation in the field of Tourism. He further stressed upon the efforts for promotion and marketing of tourism activities to attract the Omani tourists to Nepal.
The Nepali delegation also comprised of H.E. Mr. Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman, Joint Secretary Mr. Sharad Raj Aran, Head of the Central Asia, West Asia and Africa Division, Mr. Uddav Neupane, Desk Officer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Bishesh Kumar Sah, DCM, Embassy of Nepal, Muscat.
Foreign Secretary Ms. Sewa Lamsal led delegation arrived in Oman on 05 August 2024, paid courtesy call on H.E. Mahad Bin Said bin Ali Baawain, Minister of Labour, Sultanate of Oman on 07 August 2024 and held the first meeting of Bilateral Consultations on 07 August 2024. The delegation also had a virtual meeting with Nepali Ambassadors and other staffs of the Embassies of Nepal in the GCC region on 06 August 2024.
The Nepali delegation visited National Museum of Oman in the afternoon.
